Sometimes what's not on the label is what's most important !

Our flour IS certified

Our flour was independantly tested and awarded the Clean Label Project Purity Award, confirming that it's free of glypohsate (Round Up), mercury, and lead.

With the raised awarness about harmful chemicals that end up in food as a result of irresponsible, chemical-company-driven farming, we decided not to keep quiet about it and to share this information with you instead.

Minimizing our footprint

Years ago we switched our main white flour from conventional to “transitional”, which completed a long research journey of trying to find the right flour to join locally sourced organic Whole Wheat, Spelt, Khorasan, and Rye as our staple ingredient.

Ancient varieties of wheat are delicious, nutritious, and are said to be agreeable with people who have a low tolerance for gluten.

Our wheat has since then been farmed right across the border in Quebec, using environmentally friendly “Agriculture Raisonnee” agronomy practices, and we were very proud to have quietly joined a sustainable agriculture chain which connects farmers, millers, bakers, and customers who all care about minimizing their environmental footprint.

Clean label Project

In addition to the pleasure of knowing our farmers and millers personally, and the positive impact on the environment, we also started to control exactly which varieties of wheat go into our flour blend.

Clean Label Project uses data and science to reveal the true contents of consumer products.

Products are tested in an analytical chemistry laboratory for 130 harfmul environmental contaminants and toxins.

Results are published as Product Ratings. You can find out more at www.cleanlabelproject.org.
